The
Oris Centennial Set 1904 Limited Edition evokes the rich history
of Oris.

To
commemorate its centenary, the Swiss watch brand Oris is
launching an exclusive Centennial Set, which features highlights
from the history of mechanical timepiece innovation. The Oris
Centennial Set 1904 comprises a modern Artelier
High-Mech Worldtimer, a legendary clock, a historical movement
component and the book 100 ORIS YEARS.
To
celebrate the year that Oris was founded, the set is limited to
1904 units. The watches, accompanied by a certificate, are
individually numbered on the case from 0001/1904 to 1904/1904.
The Artelier Worldtimer features an engraving of the Oris
factory in 1904 on the case back. As if opening a window
into the future, a mineral crystal window reveals
the automatic movement with
red rotor, the new High-Mech symbol of Oris.

Of
all recent movement innovations the Worldtimer is definitely the
pinnacle. The watch, equipped with two analogue time displays,
permits the adjustment between time zones by means of two push
buttons; the date changes automatically forwards and backwards.
The Oris movement Cal. 690, a world first when it was launched
in 1997- is incorporated into a three-piece stainless steel case
from the latest Oris Classic Line Artelier.
The dial with rose gold hands and indices, as well as the big
crown and push buttons are classical in design.
In
addition to the Worldtimer, the Oris Centennial Set 1904 Limited
Edition includes a clock, cal. 7320, which has an eight day
power reserve. The hand-winding timepiece is modelled on an Oris
clock from 1952. As a special anniversary present Oris is adding
the individually numbered clocks to the Centennial Set at cost
price.
The
luxury box also contains a centre-bridge (Pont de centre),
an original component part of movement 701 from the year 1982,
as a trouvaille for enthusiasts of mechanical watchmaking.
Last
but not least, the set is completed by the new book 100 ORIS
YEARS, which fits into a special compartment. Comprehensively
illustrated, the book takes you on a fascinating journey through
the worlds of Oris. Purchasers of the Centennial Set will
receive the book free of charge as soon as it becomes available.
The
set is also available with an 18ct gold watch.
