The WilliamsF1 Team Pointer Date

A Motor Racing Watch Becomes a Compass

-

-

This sports watch stands out because of a completely new feature. For a long time the red Oris pointer displaying the date has been the key Oris innovation – now Oris presents a watch with a degree scale that therefore doubles as a compass. If the hour hand is aligned to the sun, south is halfway between that point and 12 o’clock. The other points of the compass are synchronised accordingly.
A further development in the Oris WilliamsF1 line, the High-Mech watch, water-resistant to 50 m, is highly technological with its division for the pointer calendar on the dial and division for points of the compass on the bezel. The flexible lugs fit the wrist perfectly, as do the rubber strap featuring the vertical tyre tread of Formula One or the stainless-steel bracelet with links. The mechanical movement is equipped with the red Oris rotor, clearly visible through the skeleton window in the back of the stainless-steel case.

Power, dynamism – and sports styling. This is how the new Williams Day Date models catch the eye. These bold watches from the Oris world of Formula One are only available in 2006. The simple yet well-designed black dials with date and week day displays are marked out by their careful detailing.
The coloured hour numerals contrast subtly with the two-piece dials and emphasize the influence of the cockpit on the design of these watches, which are water-resistant to 50 m. The multi-piece stainless steel case with big Oris crown is a hit; additionally black PVD coated for the model with red numerals. The flexible lugs of the Williams F1 line ensure optimal wearing comfort, complementing the supple rubber strap with Formula One vertical tyre tread. For the models without PVD coating there is the option of a metal bracelet. These attractive watches are equipped with High-Mech movements; the red Oris rotor is clearly visible through the skeleton window in the case back.

Big Crown Telemeter Chronograph

A Pilot’s Watch Measures Time and Space

It’s best to fly around thunder storms – and the new Oris Big Crown Telemeter makes that even easier. The seconds counter measures the time between lightning and thunder or between another optical and acoustic event; the extension of the stop seconds counter records the distance between events on the telemeter ring of the bezel.
The sports chronograph, which is water-resistant to 30 m, is a new addition to the successful range of Oris Big Crown pilots’ watches with characteristic fluted top ring. Curved Plexiglas, classic hands, as well as applied numerals and indices give it the feel of a pioneer’s watch.
The massive stainless-steel case has a diameter of 43 mm. The stop functions are displayed separately: the seconds counter from the centre, the minutes counter decentralised at 12 o’clock, and hour counter at six o’clock. The small permanent second is at nine o’clock, whilst the date is displayed at three o’clock. The dark-brown calf-skin leather strap with the contrasting seam is inspired by pilots’ uniforms. There is also the option of a metal bracelet. Through the window of the case back the High-Mech movement with the red Oris rotor is clearly visible.
